Keith Miller - Hazzan/Director of Education
After completing his undergraduate studies at California State University Northridge and Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Hazzan Keith Miller went on to study chazzanut with renowned Cantors Allan Michelson and Meir Finkelstein and received his Hazzan's Commission from the Cantors' Assembly in 1996. Hazzan Miller's new CD, "Ashrei," is an eclectic mix of Jewish liturgical music, sure to engage and inspire the listener. The recording is available on iTunes and Cdbaby.com, as well as our own synagogue's giftshop, and giftshops throughout the region. Hazzan Miller was recently elected to serve on the Cantors Assembly Executive Council for a three-year term. He also currently serves as an officer in the Cantors Assembly, Western Region, in the capacity of treasurer. Previously, he served as the CAWR representative to the United Synagogue Executive Committee, Co-Chair of the Bureau of Jewish Education's Religious School Principal Council, and member of the Board of Directors of LA Hebrew High School. In November 2004, the Foundation of New Jewish Liturgical Music honored Hazzan Miller for his original composition "Ashrei," performed at the inaugural festival of New Jewish liturgical music in Maryland. Hazzan Miller is one of the featured artists on the CD, "The Spirit of Passover," a co-production of United Synagogue and the Cantors Assembly. United Synagogue and the Cantors Assembly will be including Hazzan Miller's original composition, "Shalom Aleinu" in the new Spirit Series: Israel II CD, due out May, 2008.
