THE HOLY LAND DEMOCRACY PROJECT

The Holy Land Democracy Project is a program that teaches about modern-day Israel to Catholic high school educators and their students. The program is a partnership between the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and The Jewish Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council.

Walk for Darfur - June 1

Join KM members on "Team KM" to Walk for Darfur on June 1 from 9 am - noon.

You can register on-site the morning of the Walk beginning at 8 am, the Walk begins at 9 am and the program at 10:30 am. Each walker is asked to raise or donate a minimum of $18 for Jewish World Watch (JWW) to raise awareness, support and hope for the survivors of the Darfur genocide.

Jewish World Watch is a coalition of synagogues working together with the community to combat genocide and other egregious violations of human rights around the world. Since its inception, the sole focus of JWW is the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, where more than 400,000 people have been killed and over two million have been displaced by attacks which have destroyed their villages.


FRIDAY NIGHT SERVICE AND DAIRY DINNER

FRIDAY, JUNE 6 AT 6:30 PM

Join us for a wonderful Friday evening of community, prayer and sing-along! In honor of Shavouot, a dairy dinner with ice cream.

All are welcome - bring your friends and relatives. Adults, $20 and children (5 to 12 yrs), $10. Please RSVP by Thursday, May 29th. Flyers are in the atrium.


Shavuot - Sunday June 8

We'll honor our Religious School graduates and celebrate the gift of Torah. Students in our 7th grade class will help conduct services on the occasion of their religious school graduation.

Services and graduation begin at 6 pm, our ice cream bar opens at 7:15 pm and our tikkun Lei Shavuot (all night Torah study) begins at 8:30 pm. Join us for all or part of the evening!

Shavuot services continue at 9:30 am Monday morning with Yiskor on Tuesday morning.

KM's Dinner Dance honoring the 60th anniversary of Israel's statehood and KM members Carmella and Nissan Pardo will be Saturday, September 13. Mark your calendars!

WE'RE GOING TO ISRAEL - Monday the 27th of October, returning Thursday November 6th. Details to follow -- prices, accommodations, flight arrangements etc.

Anniversary Celebrations

Shabbat services on the last Saturday of each month are now being made even more special. All congregants whose wedding anniversaries fall within the month will be honored during the service.
