The Consulate General of Israel is pulling out all the stops and celebrating Israel's 60th year of Independence in grand style. We have made it very easy to make sure you don't miss any of the galas, festivals, events and celebrity sightings that will be happening all next year. This link will instantly take you to the Consulate Website. The website has been revamped and there is no better source to connect and update you on what is happening in the Jewish homeland.
The Consulate has also just unveiled its My Space page where you can see the latest videos, new Israeli artists and stay current on all things Israel. We are always interested in your opinions so be sure to comment on our new L.A STAR blog.
We look forward to having thousands of friends added and hope your congregation and organization will be a large part of the website.
If you have any questions please e-mail webmaster@losangeles.mfa.gov.il
Looking forward to a wonderful 60th birthday year!
Warmest regards,
Gilad Millo

(Track #12).
Cantor's Ashrei CD
Mazal Tov to Hazzan Keith Miller for recording his first CD.
"ASHREI" is an elegantly produced collection of songs in Hebrew that range from the swinging "Mi Chamocha" to the sentimental "Eishet Chayil."
Copies are available from the gift shop for $9.99 or listen to tracks and purchase a CD online at CDBABY.COM. Or you can download the entire CD or individual songs for your iTunes application by visiting Ashrei at Apple. It's also available as MP3 or WMV files at Payplay.FM. All profits help support Kehillat Ma'arav.
Cantor's Passover CD
"Spirit of Passover" CD to Feature Hazzan Miller
Mazal Tov to our own Hazzan Miller for being featured on the CD "The Spirit of Passover," released through the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) and the Cantors Assembly. The cantor's track is an upbeat, sephardic-style song called "Hasal Siddur Pesah."
"I am very excited to have this wonderful piece, composed by the Israeli duo Tsemed Reim, featured on the new Cantors Assembly CD. I have included this rendition for several years at our Kehillat Ma'arav community seder, and it is now going to become even more popular among lovers of Jewish music and Hazzanut."
Purchase it at the KM Gift Shoft for $15.
Mazal Tov, Cantor Keith!

Have You Been Pinned?
Kehillat Ma'arav lapel pins are available for purchase from Cantor Miller for a donation of $5 each.
The stylish blue and gold design is bound to attract attention (we can't make any promises but if you wear one there's a chance you'll find yourself on television).
All proceeds from the purchase of these pins will go to the Religious School (the money you receive from any television appearances is yours to keep!). So please support your synagogue and pick one up today (carefully, though, since it is a pin).
