The Cantor's Voice November2006
The month following Tishrei is referred to as "Mar" Heshvan or bitter
Heshvan, because there are no Jewish holidays in the month.
We're "Holidayed Out" as the cycle of holiday after holiday has finally concluded. Alas, fear not -- American culture picks up the slack! The wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 23rd this year, and I'd like to strongly encourage you to join our community as we go to Brentwood Presbyterian Church on San Vicente Blvd to share what is now the 23rd anniversary of our Interfaith Service. From 8:30am-10am we have a light breakfast (save room for turkey and trimmings) and share a common love of God and Country with our co-religionists at the church. We pray, sing and study together as faith-based American citizens. All are invited. I hope to see you there. Keith Miller Hazzan Director of Education |
