The Cantor's Voice July 2008
Our religious school has been undergoing a process of review over the past
year. We're constantly trying to improve our product and make changes where
changes need to be made. The efforts of our education committee have made
this process possible, under the leadership of Alyssa Ganezer, Education
Committee chair, and Marcia Greenberg, VP Education.
I am delighted to report to the entire congregation that our school has received a full, 6-year accreditation from the Bureau of Jewish Education. Dr. Gil Graff, executive director of the BJE, presented our certificate of accreditation at the recent congregational meeting in June. Our school is proud, but we're not sitting on our laurels. We still must improve and we still strive to raise the level and standards of our program. I will be sending out school calendars to our school families in the next several weeks, along with a host of new programs that we're introducing in the school this year. We're hoping to add a day of elective activities, new programs for tots and teens and a new early morning minyan for all congregants several times this year on Shabbat for those members who have multiple commitments on Saturday mornings. If you'd like more info, I strongly urge you to contact me and we can meet and discuss these new offerings. Additionally, I need your help in getting the word out about our wonderful school to perhaps a Jewish family who are not currently members of a congregation. We need more students in our school, and families in our shul. If every member brought just one new family to KM, well, you get the idea... Have a wonderful summer.
