ED MANN WILL SPEAK ABOUT HIS NEW BOOK “FOR THE LOVE OF RADIO”
Q & A and book sale to follow
Ed Mann, a local novelist, former radio personality, and presently, a radio company owner, chose a life on the radio in the 1980’s, a time when there were not many Jews on the air; his first radio gig was working for an evangelist. In his first comic novel, For the Love of Radio, his eponymous character’s career took off both on and off the air, but so did his troubles with bosses and business partners. He was piloting a river raft that took him to glorious heights and soon enough, professional disaster. At the bottom of the rapids, though, were the seeds of redemption, happiness and true love.
Ed’s narrative takes you behind the scenes, pulling back the curtain on what REALLY happens in big-time radio. Get ready for a provocative and funny ride. He’ll tell us what it was like to be Jewish in this world, along with a revelation that the character experiences within the walls of a synagogue– not dissimilar to his own revelations, and how important it was to him to get this story on paper in a way that will make you laugh out loud… as least, that’s what he hopes!
