Mitzvah Day and Blood Drive

The Kehillat Ma’arav Social Action Committee is pleased to announce that we have partnered with The American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Sunday, January 30, 2022. As the largest project in our evolving plans for a synagogue-wide Mitzvah Day, our Blood Drive will be a meaningful and life-saving day for so many.

Our blood drive is currently full, but we are building a day-of wait list for appointments that may open due to cancellations or ineligibility. If you would like to be on our wait list, please contact Kate Flanagan at kateflanagan@km-synagogue.org.

There are other opportunities to participate, even if you cannot donate blood:

We’ll sponsor a Donation Drive that will collect three major items for three local non-profits:

1. Westside Food Bank—desperately needs dry cereal

2. Baby 2 Baby—always needs diapers of all sizes

3. Best Friends Animal Society LA – dry food for cats and dogs

4. National Council of Jewish Women— books

All items should be brought to the front of KM that day, January 30th, from 10am – 4pm.

We will also have tables available for families/kids to create Valentine’s for the Jewish Home for the Aging (setup in the KM parking lot).
