On Sunday, October 30, we will partner with Rise Against Hunger, an organization dedicated to ending hunger and building strong, self-sustaining communities across the globe–empowering leaders, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies.
During our two hours together, Kehillat Ma’arav will be packaging over 10,000 shelf-stable, non-perishable meals to be distributed around the world. Yes, you read that right: 10,000 meals in 2 hours. Our Social Hall will be transformed, where people of ALL AGES AND ABILITIES will have a part to play in a high-energy, assembly-line community project that is as fun as it is meaningful.
This is the perfect morning for all of us: feel good while doing good.
There are many ways to support this effort:
- Help the Rise Against Hunger crew and KM staff with setup that morning (around 8am; requires lifting, bending, moving)
- Participate in the two-hour meal packaging from 10am – 12pm (perfect for helpers age 5+)
- Make a financial contribution to support the event
