Social Action Opportunity: Faith in Christ Ministries

One of Kehillat Ma’arav’s most meaningful tradition continues—our decades-long, Christmas partnership with Faith in Christ Ministries and its leadership, Pastor Joe and Gwynn Browne, in supporting the needy in Los Angeles. This important mitzvah provides opportunities to connect with the community and put our Jewish values into action. 

Join this effort by volunteering in-person on Christmas Day (Sunday, December 25). There are opportunities to prepare and serve the holiday meal, greet and kibbitz with guests, and assist with the distribution of needed items. All shifts are listed below.

• Shift 1 begins at 9:30am: Warming and preparing Christmas dinner and sorting donated clothing for distribution.
• Shift 2 begins at 11:00am: Greeting Guests, seating them at tables and serving the meal.
• Shift 3 begins at 11:30am: Distributing clothing and toys to guests and cleaning the church before leaving.
