REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Join Rabbi Gotlieb and Cantor Kanfer for five Sunday morning sessions to help you develop a deeper understanding of the foundations and practices of Judaism. 

Class topics include Early Beginnings of Judaism, the beginnings of what becomes contemporary Judaism: rabbinic literature, The Jewish Holidays, Kashrut and Shabbat, and Why be Jewish? 

The first session will take place on February 22 and will continue the subsequent Sundays through March 22.

9:30-10:00 am: A light breakfast will be served.

10:00-11:00 am: Class

This series is open to members and non-members alike.

This class is offered free of charge and is made possible by a private gift. Registration required.

TOPICS:

February 22 – Early Beginnings (Abraham & Sarah, the religion of Israel, Kings of Israel, 12 Tribes, Destruction of the First Temple and how the prophets make sense of it)

March 1 – The beginnings of what becomes contemporary Judaism (rabbinic literature)

March 8 – The Jewish Holidays

March 15 – Kashrut and Shabbat

March 22 – Why be Jewish?
